Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.
Dominance Established from the Start
Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.
Youngster Adam Wharton went close minutes later, driving a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the official dismissed the appeals.
Ex-Arsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had hit the post.
The home side were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
